Photocopy all 20 billion pages?

About send off all of documents towards I-864.

My parents(sponsor for my wife) tax information is like a novel long.

Do I really need to make photocopies of all this? Will I need to bring, their tax info to the future interview. I obviously cant answer any question about them.

debating if I should, just for safety.. but that xerox machine better have a turbo button.

Why don't you just send in the IRS transcripts? That's all they usually need.

Agree with poster above. My tax returns are 500 pages for each year but when I received tax transcript it was only 7 pages. My understanding is they prefer tax transcripts anyway as it proved the taxes were filed and accepted.

Well, for 2016 their tax transcript is still not available, according to online IRS access. So they sent me everything.

My joint sponsor's 2016 returns also weren't avaliable yet. It ended up being no big deal because we included the other previous years' returns. 

 

Do they have a stable income? Can you see that in the returns? Is the income well over the poverty line? If so, most likely they will not be overly concerned about the details of the recent return. They just want to see that a.) the joint sponsor pays taxes regularly b.) has a regular fixed source of income above the required poverty line. The details of it will only be of interest to them if it's below the required amount.

On top of what was suggested above, make sure you remove state taxes.  NVC only require the federal taxes, W2s and any relevant 1099s.

If you already removed them and it's still 500 pages...that's one hefty shipping fee!

My dad every year takes over the living room table and brings out boxes and boxes of tax details to submit, organize, etc. I think he loves paying taxes, and more especially saving taxes. Mine take 5 minutes to read.

 

 I am sure he has copies of everything, so I am not going to photocopy them.
