Hey guys,

So flights are booked for the summer to arrive at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston Texas...Weird I know, flights were cheap and I needed to head to Texas cause my friend lives there so it was very convenient whereas every other time I have always landed in California as a POE but I wanted to kill two birds with one stone kind of thing.. Anyhow....

Has anybody got experience with activating their GC through that airport?

Can somebody give me a rough estimate to processing time through there?

How long after POE did your GC arrive in the mail?

Any advice?

If if it's one of the worst airports to have chosen please don't mention it because I'm already stressed enough about landing in Texas cause I have never visited this state before but I am excited !

Thanks in advance ya'll. (see what I did there?) lol

Hey!  I would love to give you some insight to IAH (Bush Airport).  I am a USC and native Houstonian.  Obviously, I don't know what the process or procedure would be like for someone with immigrant status, and believe me I am actually curious about this as well, for future reference.

From my travels to and from IAH both domestic and abroad, it has been fairly smooth sailing.  No crazy long lines or anything of that nature.  Quick moving, fast service, no nightmare hassles, etc.   I came back from a visit to my husband and went through a DIY customs and border check.  I only waited about 10-15 in a small line before going through a self-check kiosk.  This was only for US citizens and LPR's though. Once again, I don't know what the GC situation would be like for a first timer, but if it is anything like what I went through, I am sure that your experience should be quite painless as well.

I truly wish I could give you more information than what I have said.  I know you are looking for a little more feedback per your situation, but I just wanted to let you know that you probably have nothing to worry about.  Texas is a generally friendly state.  Especially Houston.  I hope you enjoy your stay and safe travels!
