My wife's passport has been stolen from the car while she was in the gym. She is now going through AOS and we just received NOA1 yesterday. I have 2 questions. What is the quickest was to get a new passport here in the USA? And do I need to notify the NVC about the stolen K1 visa. The visa is no longer valid? I need a new passport before we attend the biometrics screening.

Thanks for the help.

K-1 was technically voided at time of entry. She then was here on the I-94.

Guessing only route you can take is contact the Mexican consulate in Atlanta.

Assuming you live in Atlanta, your wife can get a passport directly from the nearest consulate. Since her passport was stolen, she will need a police report, she will also need a document to prove her citizenship and a picture ID. Here is the link to this information, from there, you can drill down to find the list of approved picture IDs and the citizenship documents that the consulate will accept.

And this is the link to make an appointment

If the next available appointment is not soon enough, just show up as a walk in. I went to the Los Angeles consulate, I had my appointment, and I got in at the same time as many others that didn't have it. I don't remember if I brought the pictures or if the pictures is taken right there at the consulate....I think they take the picture. I hope somebody chime in to clarify.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help.

Contact the Mexican consulate today (ASAP).  We also live in Atlanta.  My wife's Mexican passport was about to expire and she needed to renew it.  Made an appointment and in less than one hour we walked out of the consulate's office with her new passport. That office is just off I-85 in Gwinnett county and is just about the most efficient office I have ever seen.   I cannot speak for stolen passports but I would call then first and let them direct you what steps you need to take.

Here is their contact information.
