Steps to renew Passport?

Hi again everyone,

 

My wife and I are still patiently waiting for the results of our AOS application. We submitted it in November and the anxiety is still there.

 

Anyway, her passport is about to expire next month in April.

 

Can we have a link or the steps on how to renew her passport here in California?

 

I've downloaded a passport renewal form but I'm not sure if it's the correct one.

 

Can you guys please provide us with some guidance and where to start?

Btw one more question.

 

When awaiting the A.O.S, is it a requirement to renew the Philippine Passport?

Hi Justin, 

 

For me personally, it's good to renew the Philippine passport because you'll never know when your wife needs it. (ex. I had an emergency back home in Manila and had to get my recent passport in a short span of time). It is also a form of identification on her while she's on AOS. I say this based on my experience. If you'll be interviewed, the consul might ask for a recent passport as what happened to us during my interview, the consul asked for recent copies of some of my documents, it's good to be prepared. Hope this helps.

Yes, your wife needs to go to the Philippine Consulate in LA as personal appearance is required. Before going there, you and your wife can see this link first regarding renewal of passport - http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular-services-2/passport/applicant-for-renewal.
