Yes it's true. It's a lil town and not much to see or do, worst I can't drive yet. But I take care of the house read workout trying to get busy. Housewife life 😂

I'm exactly the same, I can't drive yet, and there isn't much in walking distance from where we live. So yeah working out, I do go walking (not to anywhere, just to get out of the apartment) and bake and watch tv. Although my husband bought me a hamster :P he keeps me happy.

Oh, and scrapbooking, I do a lot of crafts :P

I'm wondering if I should call and ask to make sure they didn't "misplace" my request to expedite EAD. I can wait for the GC as long as they want, but this damn EAD... I'm assuming I won't hear about it until after biometrics appointment, but I'd like to know if I should prepare myself, my employer, and my budget for being out of job for a month :/ I hate waiting, and as every control freak hate being helpless.  I'll wait until I get my paper NOA in mail and call them I think.

They totally misplaced my request for an expedite when I did one for my OPT. I wouldn't have your company call as it should be you, your counsel, or sponsor (either your spouse, for FBAS, or your company, for work visas/GCs) - but I expect that the USCIS won't wanna talk to your employer as they're not related to your overall AOS petition. They may be related to your argument that your not working causes "financial loss", or whichever argument you're planning to use, but I think it'll only be useful if you were to call yourself and explain how your lack of EAD hurts you and your food bank, is it?

Hey Emily, this happens. Happened to me in the past while on different visas, but it never caused me any trouble. Some other people on this forum disagree and advise that you contact the USCIS to check in about why they changed it, and if you can add the old Alien Number to your file. I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not gonna comment about whether this is useful or not, but it probably can't hurt to call them about it.

@DorothyLa I will suggest you send a copy of the i864 you sent to them if you made a copy of it because I think with the barcode on it sending out new one may alter the information they already have in their system for that form concerning you leading to an unnecessary delay in adjudication of your case.#myopinion though. Good luck.

@DorothyLa it is okay. If you can fill out the form properly again and include it in the RFE/RFIE, also remember to include copy of the RFIE letter sent to you. Good luck.

Just want to give you guys an update.

I did my biometrics this morning at 8am at South El Monte. I got there at 7:30 and there was already a long line. When the security was letting people in, he was letting some people in and some were set aside and place in a different line. I was afraid he was going to have me wait longer cause my appt was at 10 but he stamped it and let me in. I waited probably 30-40 mins to get my fingerprints done and pic since there were only two ladies taking them.

I don't really need the EAD really since I still have mine from DACA but hearing people who got approved or got their interview scheduled prior to the EAD card gives me hope.

I'm sorry for the people who received RFIE or have not received their NOA. Like the other people here, just keep positive and hopefully. We're here to help each other and motivate each other!

Apparently it is, my husband's a-number was changed and I freaked out and opened inquiries with USCIS. But people are saying it's normal. We have an InfoPass appointment to ask tomorrow. I'll update you.

We got our RFIE. We sent his shenasnameh, Iranian birth record, and they said it was a foreign translation of a foreign record, but they want the travel.state.gov approved birth record. That website does list shenasnameh as the Iranian birth certificate... so I guess I'll send a printout of the state department website, as well as the shenasnameh and certified translation again. Once again, I'll ask at InfoPass in the morning and let y'all know!

@Apfel Did your husband's previous A# start with a 2? I know it sounds like a random question, but people are saying that it makes a difference. Apparently numbers that start with a 2 are permanent numbers, whilst those that start with a 1 are temporary. My old number started with a 2, so does my new one.

I know this may be a personal question, and feel free not to answer if you don't want to, but how much has your medical bills for all the tests etc you've had done come to?

Mine was $430 for everything excluding chicken pox vaccination which I didn't have to do. I'll suggest you shop around as their fees vary but make sure they are an approved USCIS Civil Surgeon (list on USCIS website). You can search for some in your area on the website. Recently, USCIS now requires the medical exam to include gonorrhoea test, make sure your civil surgeon is aware of this. Overall, it's best to send the I-693 with your I-485 package so everything is processed together. Hope that helps

Thanks for the info! I've looked at the USCIS website list, but haven't contacted anywhere yet. I've already sent off my I-485 and

purposely didn't send off the I-693  with it because I know they can expire and didn't want to have to pay for it twice. I've read a lot of people just wait until they are asked for it to submit it/submit at interview so I just decided to do that.

Quick question about bout the chicken pox vaccination, if you've had chicken pox, generally you don't get it again, do you still need a vaccination if you've had chicken pox?
