Hi guys,

1. I'm preparing my I864 to support my spouse. My account has been doing my tax return for the past few years. I just realized he has mis-spelled my name on the tax returns for the past few years. It was one letter short from my name.

I have asked him to write a letter about the name correction to turn in with my tax return transcripts together. Will the mis-spelling on tax returns get me in trouble even if I attach the letter to explain the mis-spelling?

2. I am planning to give my return for 2016, 2015, 2014. I have gotten the 2014, 2015 tax transcript. I have reported my 2016 tax, but the tax transcrpt is not ready yet. If I don't send in the 2016 tax transcript, what document should I turn in to prove that I have filled my tax return in 2016?

Thank you guys!

Ah, ok. Thanks for clarifying! Can you wait until the 2016 stuff is ready, or send w2s? Another solution would be an employment letter, combined with bank deposit history as well as pay stubs

Hi Karice,

I already did my 2016 tax returns and have copies of all my documents. Wondering if I can just go ahead and send in those documents (including W2s) for 2016? I will also attached my last 6month pay stubs and employment letter. Do you think this would be enough?

Thank you! :)

I brought a ton! I found that it was better to have too much, than not enough. BUT I was only asked for what you listed above.

It it is up to the discretion of the officer what they can ask for. I'd recommend bringing more to be prepared.

Usually they will not require the 2016 return until after the filing date of April 15 th passes...until then 2015 is considered the most recent one... 2017 payslips etc are required asroff of current ongoing adequate income.

HI Dee Elle,

I already filled tax for my 2016 tax year. So I am planning on turn in the 2016 tax return forms, along with 2016W2.    Also, I will send the tax transcripts for 2015 and 2014. Do you think this would be enough for the tax return part? I will also send in my last 6 month pay stub plus my employment verification letter.

Do I have to sent in my 2013 tax return, since you said 2015 is the most recent year?

Thank you! v

Do you send in the entire package of transcripts or just the two pages of the 1040 for AOS?

I will 2014 and 2015 tax transcripts, which I requested from IRS. And since I just filed the tax return for 2016, so I'm not sure if I can get the 2016 transcripts right away. I am planning on sending the 2016's 1040 form and a copy of my W2. Should this be enough?
