I'm in a similar position where I omitted a child because there is no plan for him to ever come to the US.  My fiancee even made his grandmother his legal guardian because he's been living with her ever since he was a baby.  We even flat out asked him if he wanted to come and he said no.  I would just like some peace of mind and would like to know if you have heard differently since.  Does this kind of thing still happen without being penalized later in the process (after submitting the I-129F)?  I appreciate your help!

Read thoroughly, interpret literally.  Does the person have a child regardless of who is looking after it? Yes.  Then you put the child down.  Why do people purposely misrepresent themselves?

Not sure why I would have to add actual items for you to do?  I don't understand why you wouldn't have been honest to begin with.  This doesn't take a genius to figure out that you messed up, now do everything you can to fix it.  You messed up and lied, now deal with the understanding that you have to try to fix it.  Yes it happens all the time, that doesn't make it okay or right and I'm not going to tell you it will be okay.  

 

To do:

  1. Update the I-129F take to interview.
  2. Make sure the DS-160 is correct.
  3. Mention EVERYTHING at interview. 

The only way to salvage anything is to be completely honest.

 

My constructiveness ended before with READ thoroughly, INTERPRET literally, ANSWER truthfully.   If you have issues figuring out the forms, try a visa service or a good immigration lawyer.  Try honesty from here on in as others have also had this same issue.   (There's your peace of mind?)
