Why is your Tax return transcript taking 8 weeks or more?

A tax transcript can be issued from the IRS over the phone and it takes only 4-6 days to mail you a copy.  where is yours mailed to?

No, the embassy can't view online tax documents.

If you dont have the tax return transcript, bring a copy of the entire tax return. No they can't look at electronic or online copies, you need to have a paper copy.

In that case you must provide them with the full return that you filed, including W2's and/or 1099's (if applicable). Include a letter explaining the taxes were filed in January 2017 and a tax transcript from the IRS is unavailable at this time.

I'm a little confused here. Did you already file your AOS and got a checklist for the supporting financial documents?

According to their own regulations -- a tax transcript OR a full tax return with W2s, etc. is acceptable. Make sure you provide the entire return and attach the supporting documents.

From State Department's website:

"If you cannot obtain an IRS tax transcript: If you are unable to obtain an IRS tax transcript, submit a photocopy of your IRS Federal Income Tax Returns and Form(s) W-2 or schedule(s) from the most recent tax year."

You can provide the income tax return even when its "in process" with the IRS. You need to send them the entire tax return (these are all the forms you filled out and sent to the IRS -- you should have a copy of this) and make copies of his W2 or 1099/ whatever documents he had to show his reported income for the year. The return, plus supporting documents are what they want. You can write a separate letter stating that the tax transcript is unavailable because the IRS is processing the return.
