Hello

On July 12, 2016, I submitted the I-485 to USCIS. I have been waiting a long time and today I got a letter stating they would like me to submit a I-693, report of medical examination and vaccination record AGAIN! This is so frustrating as I paid $600 before I left Australia on my k-1 and submitted it in July when I was adjusting my status and now I need to do another one again? I find this so unfair has anyone else been asked to do this?

This is GOOD news!!! Be happy that you finally heard back. Its common to have to repeat your medical records. If that's all you have to do, be quick about! You're almost there!

Married: 3-19-14

Thank you for the positive news haha I really hope so! I feel like this has been the longest process ever as I'm sure most will agree :) In that case I'll get onto it straight away

From the looks of it, your medical from your K-1 would have been somewhere in December of 2015 or Jan of 2016, so it's expired. While most people say if you send off for your AOS and your K-1 medical still has a year you're fine. That's usually only if they actually start on your AOS case BEFORE your medical expires. If your medical expires before they start on your case, you'll need to do a new medical.

Again though, like it was said, it's good news because it means you're case is being worked on.

Yeah I'd say it's because it has expired but they were definatley working on my case prior to it expiring. It's just a shame, I feel like it was money down the drain for nothing but not too worry, I'm ready to get this moving!

Their own rules say that you may submit it within one year of it being performed and that it's valid from one year of submission. I would not do a new one

https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-issues-new-policy-form-i-693-report-medical-examination-and-vaccination-record

" Starting June 1, 2014, USCIS will limit the validity period for all Forms I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, to one year from the date of submission to USCIS. Applicants must also submit Form I-693 to USCIS within one year of the immigration medical examination."

Is your case with the local office in NY? Seems like quite a few cases that end up there get RFEs for medical, even if they really shouldn't get an RFE for it. I'm taking it as if the NY office don't know the rules.
