I thought you would only have to wait 2 more years since you're already about 3 years in. Is there any specific clause relating to your case that says you can't file N-400 after 5 years (4 years 9 months) of being PR?

When you file as a divorce waiver you can file for ROC as soon as you have your divorce decree so I did that so that I would know sooner if they were going to decline me. My conditional 2 yr card only actually expired this month so I've only been a PR for 2 years at this point. So 3 more (or as you say 2 and 9months!)

I wish! I have to wait 3 more years now due to the fact I'm no longer married to the sponsor. Not really overly envious of the additional paperwork but I will be when you guys are all citizens and I'm still sat here like

I'm with @St.James-One. I think you may only have to wait two more years.

The paperwork. Ugh!  I dreaded having to do it but know it will be worth it. I should have really taken a break after that ROC journey but didn't want to sleep on it.

I was just looking up March and April filers' timelines to see how long it took from Approval Date to Card receipt.  Unfortunately, people are logging their approvals on their timelines, but not the dates they are receiving their cards.

However, Fania & Nelson, of our group, received their approval on March 20th, and got an email saying "Card has been mailed" on April 16th.  Looks like about a month from approval date to card receipt, or, three weeks from approval letter to card receipt.

Best of luck to those of you who have filed your N-400 paperwork.  We'll file in September when we return from Australia.  That is, if Julie really wants to file.  The political situation here is not ideal for immigrants (or some citizens!), but Australia is headed in the same direction, too.

I want her to file so that we don't have to worry about the six months out-of-the-country issue.  And so that if I kick off, she gets our property under the spousal exemption instead of having to pay inheritance tax on it.

I know right! B-)

I'm hoping we get our letter next week, if they really are doing these things in chronological order.  After the approval we will wait until we receive green card before applying for citizenship.  The packet is all ready to go.  Even got 2016 tax transcripts.  Will just need to update husband's travel log (already have 45 listed!), print, sign, organize, buy more of those damn clip things, and pay a pretty penny to send off (hopefully) the last USCIS packet ever!!!!

I sent out my RFE docs yesterday and it is in transit (Indianapolis, IN) now with ETA tomorrow morning to VSC.

I was going to wait to file my N-400 after the ROC is approved but at this point, I might as well just go ahead and file it soon.

Congratulations to everyone who has gotten their approvals! I'm so happy to see so much movement after so long and to know that for so many of you, this part of the process is basically over. :D

Alas, I am still in the waiting game and it's nerve-wracking. I have been following this thread from afar, not wanting to get my hopes up when I knew it was going to take forever,  but now that approval letters seem to be arriving like letters from Hogwarts, I hate getting the mail and seeing nothing. Hey, maybe today will be the day! *fingers crossed*

I'm glad you are going ahead with the N-400.  Since your Korean passport has expired or will expire soon, you really are in a pickle as far as travel until you get another passport.

I would be so afraid to be "stateless".  Really pulling hard for you and your partner!
