What a small world. I loved living up there. I loved going to the Longo's at York Mills and Leslie as well as Whatta Bagel and Ikea. I miss shopping at Longo's and Ikea

I remember a tiny theatre in bay view village that only showed Miramax films for a while.  I saw Chicago there like 3x

They did a remodel of Bayview Village awhile back. They put in a Pusiteri's (cha-ching expensive) there and whole lotta of other stores that are very high end

Yeah I think I saw the pusiteris not long before I moved.  A former co worker of mine used to be the head chef for the one in the bloor area.  I was always waiting for them to get a coach store, but then I think that Fairview got one eventually

I was also a willowdaleian!  I grew up @ neighbourhoods near Leslie+Shepard.  Bayview village has and always will be up scale, I was more of a Fairview frequenter.  Bayview village has changed a lot with subway, this condo looking like a ship and sky high real estate prices.

Update for anyone interested: Once we got my husband's SSN, we scheduled an appointment with the driver's exam station. We explained our situation, "We'd like to get my husband an Oklahoma license, here is his Canadian one, what is our next step?", left out the probably crucial detail that it was a G1 license (I mean, it's written on the card, but they probably just assumed it was a full license), and they just took his information, and he got a full Oklahoma license. A little scary, a little broken, but I won't complain. It's less hassle for us.

Definitely still gonna do some practice drives with him before I turn him loose though, haha.

This has happened to another Canadian. I don't remember what State she went too.
