No I don't have a lawyer in our interview. I bought an album which there is some spaces beside each picture and you can add some notes for each picture. you suggest me to do that?

I'm not a lawyer so I can't legally advise you but if your interview is before you file taxes, bring pay stubs where it shows your marital status and dependent status if any, if you file taxes but can't get a transcript in time them bring the w2 for each of you if you both work and print your form 1040 or whatever tax form you use. You can just google "order tax transcript online" and the first site is a secure IRS portal. You will need your adjusted gross income (AGI) from already filing, your marital filing status and your address you listed on your taxes. You can get a transcript about 2-3wk after the IRS actually accepts your tax filing.

No clue who decides this but others on VJ have talked about it. I don't think a tier 2 on the phone can check your background status, mainly because it would involve them placing us on hold for a while and calling the NBC somehow to get this info.....unless these tier 2 people we are speaking to actually are at the NBC? FWIW, I also see on VJ a lot that once you file EAD renewal, it sort of taps someone on the shoulder about your case and gets it moving. We shall see.

- I-131 for renewal

- I-131 supplement, explanation of circumstances for travel

- G-1145, e-notification

- 2 passport-style photos

- Copy of I-131 approval notice

- Copy of I-485 receipt

- Copy of current EAD/AP card, front and back

That looks like the full setup for renewal. Oh, I called the uscis 800# again today, and again got a tier 2 who I pinned down and asked could she see if his background check is cleared. Confirmed that no one on the 800 number would have access to this. So infopass or congressman it is.

We were asked for the original visa and original/subsequent passports that expired as well as current passport. Updated editions of all documents we submitted as proof of marriage like bills.

You mean like the original you entered the US on? Did you come on a k1 or another visa type.....I am sorry to be nosey, but I wouldn't have thought to bring these at all. Its good to know.

Hi, can anyone who went through the interview let me know whether they need the USC's birth certificate? My hubby became a USC through naturalization. He has his naturalization certificate, would that be enough? He does have his birth certificate but it's only a copy and we need to translate it if that's necessary. Thanks

What did you send with you AOS forms? Did you send only his naturalization certificate, or did you include the copy of the birth certificate? If you didn't get an RFE asking for the birth certificate now I thin all you would need is his proof of citizenship (place of birth is listed on those too, right?).

We did send his naturalization certificate copy. I'm just not sure if we need his birth certificate for the interview or not.

I do not think so, I think the naturalization copy works in its place. I believe that have all the same basic info on it anyway.

i just noticed on the letter that came with the EAD card, it is written "use this tear-off portion to speed your application for an extension or replacement card." 

I probably would take a copy of it to keep before mailing the original letter with the renewal form and docs...

 

Also, as far as the taxes for 2016, we still don't have the W-9. 

I will bring a copy of my W-4, and last pay stubs for both of us for the year 2016 which has the YTD amounts. I think that's the best we can do for now and I hope it's good enough for them too.

I'm sure your w4 and paystubs will be fine. Everyone knows it isn't time for w2 issuance just yet, another 2 or so weeks still

Yes. Husband overstayed a tourist visa in 2002 for many reasons. They wasted to see the ordinal stamp and cardboard paper. I'm assuming to confirm that he did enter legally.

Well, #######. We sent off hubby's EAD/AP renewal docs yesterday and never noticed anything about a "tear-off portion" that could potentially speed up the replacement card issuance.

Totally not your fault!! We'll see if this can be processed smoothly. I'm just feeling somewhat overwhelmed with this entire process (no lawyer and doing everything ourselves) plus some job stuff and didn't look everything over as thoroughly perhaps as I should have.
