I have submitted my K1 visa for my Fiance and her dependent.  I received my NOA1 so yeah i am excited.  I get online and start looking at visa journey timelines and there are over 800 unapproved K1 visa out of the California service center.  Many of them are listed from the beginning of last year.  There are only a handful Approved.  WOW that brought me back to reality realizing I am dealing with a government entity and this could take a very long time.  I was hoping for 3 to 6 month process.  Anyone out there have any comments on the process or the California service center.  With having a dependent involved slow the process down

That timeline information is only as accurate as the information entered.  So once someone is approved if they do not go back and update that on their timeline it looks as though nothing happened or they weren't approved yet.

 

In a perfect world every VJ member would create a timeline and keep it updated accurately..but many do not.

Exactly. Those timelines are only as accurate as the people entering them. Many people start but never update their status once they get approved, unfortunately. A better estimate are the timelines listed here:

They honestly may be a bit low right now given a backlog due to holidays and such, but generally they're a fairly good estimate.
