I got my green card today: no signature, they just left it in the mail box

Hopefully I can answer it too in about 10 days or so.

Had my interview yesterday and was approved.. Case status changed to 'New card is being produced'

Finally an end to to big long wait for  1 year, 10 months, 5 days.

Congratulations John!

I remember your case was transferred to NBC at the same time with ours and we will also have an interview next month. Can you please share what the interview was like and what questions did the officer was focusing on?

Cheers

Was just the basic stuff, she didn't really ask that much. She confirmed our wedding date, address we lived.. after that she started about if I was insured in 2017, which I was not. Than she started that it was a bit fishy that since early 2018 I got insured again by my wife. So she more or less wanted to have proof of what happened between 2013 year we got married and 2015. As I had the tax returns of 2016 and 2017. And the new car lease and insurance but that was all 2017-2018.
I told her that if the letter would have said bring your shared tax returns I would have done it, but it only said the last two tax return statements.
We showed her proof that she is now insured through me and something we bought last month and both signed for.
Than she said okay I'm going to approve your case.

I printed photo's of our road trip last month to Key West, but she didn't even ask for family photo's.

I had my interview (I-751 only) last week Wednesday at 11am and at 4pm I already received a text message that my status had changed. And today that my card was mailed. So it shouldn't take that long in my opinion.

I wanted to share my I-751 + N400 combo interview experience that took place earlier this week.

Details:

I-751 CSC Jan 2017 filer

Filed N400 in Feb 2018

N400 and I751 approved this week

My wife and I went together with all supporting documents. There was significant rush and we were called in ~1.5 hours after our scheduled interview time. The officer was very friendly and started off by saying that he'd first need to adjudicate I-751. He asked for documents to prove our relationship is in good-faith. We showed him joint documents since our marriage till present. I was describing all the documents and the officer did not ask my wife anything. Then the officer escorted my wife out saying that he needs to review the N400 with me alone. Once he came back, he told me he was satisfied about our relationship and is approving the I751, and would then move onto N400.

For the N400, he first asked basic questions from my application - e.g. wife's birthday, our address, my birthday, DOB, country of birth etc. Then I did the English and civics test. Upon completing these, he said he's approving the N400 and spent some time on paperwork. At the end, he asked when I'd like to attend the oath ceremony and confirmed a date, and said that a document with ceremony details would be mailed to my house. He gave me a document stating that I was recommended for citizenship. He also mentioned that the certificate of naturalization would be made available at the oath ceremony.

I have gained a lot from VJ forums and this community has been very helpful all along! I wish all of you the very best! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I am happy to help based on whatever I have learned from my experience.

Congratulations @gaia12

But ’tis a common proof
That lowliness is young ambition’s ladder,
Whereto the climber upward turns his face.
But when he once attains the upmost round,
He then unto the ladder turns his back,
Looks in the clouds, scorning the base degrees
By which he did ascend.

All that are still waiting, good luck. Since yesterday my wait is over I received my new unconditional GC in the mail (no signature required).
Finally some peace after 688 days or 1 year 10 months and 19 days. Had my card in my hand 11 days after the interview.

Now next step... N-400

Congrats! Your case sounds little bit different.

Mose cases are approved on the spot, and will be no production of the card. Did they advise you the reason why they couldn't make decision on Aug 21?

Is it because they didn't have I 751 files on hand back then? Did they mention anything about your N400 oath?
