Hi all, I recently got engaged to my long distance girl friend. She lives in texas and I have a B1 tourist visa(not used), since our circumstances have changed should I now apply for a different visa type as our intentions have changed also, she wants me to move there and get married. I am confused as to which way to approach this. Thanks in advance

why did you need a B?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

**** Moving to What Visa do I Need forum *****

So she wants to move to you in the UK? If so, you are better off looking at a UK visa forum, VisaJourney is very much focused on US immigration. I do know you need a visa to get married in the UK.

If you want to live together in the USA, you have two options:

- get a K1 fiancee visa (faster, but more expensive; you also need to have met in person before, it is unclear if you have?)

- Get married, either in the US while you are on a tourist visa or elsewhere, and then apply for a CR-1. Cheaper, but takes longer.

In either case, you can use your tourist visa to visit while the process goes on, but cannot live or work in the USA with it.

you must meet in person first for either visa. her plan to move on a tourist visa is visa fraud. immigration isn't quick

Quickest route would be the K1 Fiancee visa.

You can read all about it in the guides.
