Still no GC Interview Letter after a year

Hello,

I need some guidance on how to handle my situation where the USCIS received my I-485 application in Nov. 2015 and my wife and I still haven't received our interview letter for GC. My lawyer has been contacting them online and he's not going to get a response til Jan. 2017. We've been told from the beginning that my wife and I have nothing to worry about, relax, and enjoy life and we should get the interview letter within 4-6 months......here we are over a year later with no interview letter and work permit expiring soon. We also sent my work permit renewal application that they received end of October 2016 since my work permit ends in Feb. 2017 and I can't afford to lose my job. I received a letter from work that I will be terminated if I don't provide them with new documents for recertification. I've been HAPPILY married for over a year now as well to an American citizen that was born and raised here. I made a schedule with InfoPass within a week to hopefully get an update on my work permit renewal and maybe my I-485 status. Is there anything else that my wife and can be doing while we're waiting? I'm very worried because Feb. is coming closer each day passes. We could use some advice, Thank you.

If you entered on a K1 you may not even get an interview and will be approved without one, many are.
We filed May 2015, interviewed September 2016, still no GC. (19 months).
It can take time.

You can request an inquiry through your senator but some local USCIS offices are so backlogged it takes a long time.

Thank you, I entered thru I-94. My dad and sister are citizens now thru marriage and I'm on the same boat that they were, it only took them 6 months after they filed and got their interview letter.

A2 is a diplomatic visa so I think you would have an interview. Sometimes you can land in prolonged security / background checks

while AOS is pending. I would inquire through your husband's senator/congressman in your state/district.

Hey, thanks for your help. We're in the same boat with IO. We filed our case in late Jan and still haven't heard anything yet. My senator help us send out an inquiry a month ago and USCIS told them our case is pending background check. When do you think we should contact our senator again?

I would just let them finish their checks, nothing and nobody can hurry it up. It is of no use to keep contacting the senator as he

will get the same response. At least you know why the case is not moving forward. I would not make another inquiry until

March or so. All they can do is tell the senator yes still in checks or checks completed.

I am on the same boat. I applied AOS since Feb 2016, nothing change since they received my fingerprints fee. Can you let me know how to renew EAD? What kind of document should i send? Do i have to pay any fee for renewal? Thank you guys in advance!
