This is a rare occurrence I guess, please let me know what you think.

My wife and I are permanent residents in Canada and we wanted to go to US for this Christmas. But we do not qualify under visa waiver program. So we went to Calgary to apply for our B1/B2 visa.

The interview was unbelievably smooth, the interviewing officier was really nice and she didn't even ask for any supporting documents to show our intend to return to Canada (I assume that was because we are PR of Canada already and we have business here in Canada that require us to return to). So at the end of what I would call a nice chat instead of interview, she told both of us that our Visa has been approved. So we submitted our passports to the consulate and went weeeee!!! The interview was Nov 23 and by Nov 25 we've got emails telling us our passports are being mailed to us.

Today I got the mail and I opened my wife's passport, a 10 year B1/B2 US visa, nice. I went to check my, and suprisingly, I couldn't find my US visa in my passport. So I went page by page three more times, and guess what, no new visa. I had a previous US Visa that was expired early 2014, the only thing new in my passport was the stamp "CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE" on my expired US Visa. And that's it!! No new US Visa??????

I assume that since I was told clearly that both my wife and my visa were approved during our interview, then that means, well, both of our visas are approved, right?

Has anyone ever got told visa approved during interview but found no visa attached to the passport when they mail it back?

I really hope it's a mistake by the consulate. Already sent an email to them and will call them tomorrow morning. If it indeed was a mistake, what are the chances?
