New York Times opinion columnist Thomas Friedman declared Donald Trump's presidency a "moral 9/11" on Friday's broadcast of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher.

After MTV News correspondent Ana Marie Cox expressed how people are "legitimately frightened" about social changes President Obama has made could get taken away because "it's all executive order." She also warned that the Supreme Court could overturn gay marriage.

"The crisis hotline for trans people saw an increase of like 400 times on Tuesday night," a frightened Cox said.

"There are people who feel, not just people of color, lots of vulnerable communities who are just scared," she said.

"There's a potential that there's a student out there, there's a post-doc, a person of color, Chinese, Asian, Indian, and they're saying now do I want to study in America? Do I want to work in America? And you'll see the impact of that in ten years. You won't see it now. The next Sergey Brin won't come here. The next great inventor won't come here

"This is a moral 9/11," Friedman declared. "Only 9/11 was done from us on the outside and we did this to ourselves."

Friedman's comment received applause.

Ignoring for a moment the rest of the blather from Hillary's newspaper, tell me what YOU saw on Tuesday night. Did you see a need for a 400X increase in phone calls among transgender people? Have you seen the need today? I mean, come on... Trump won't even take office for another month and a half, and people are whining that they don't feel safe enough to leave their homes within hours of him winning. And I am not just taking about gays & transgenders, but straight women.

What exactly is there to fear outside the door of your home within hours of Trump winning? Nothing has changed in my life, so I would like to hear from those on the left just why it's too dangerous to contemplate now?

I thought Trump was ok with Tran using the bathroom thing and supported gay right.

Females do better at his company than most in America.

They just can't accept the fact they are wrong on the issues and America is sick of it.

Throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks. It use to work. Every Republican Presidential candidate had the racism thing thrown at them in recent history.
