Evening,

I am going to file the paperwork for my spouse. He is living with me and is a B-2 Visa Overstay. I will be filing for him the following:

I-130 Petition for alien relative $420

I-485 Adjustment of status $985

I-864 Affidavit of support $0

I-765 Employment authorization $380

I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record $0

G-325A Biographic information (for each of us) $0

Biometrics $85 (paid later)

TOTAL= $1870

Just to confirm, in order to file for his 5 year old son living in Jamaica, he needs the following:

I-130 Petition for alien relative $420

I-485 Adjustment of status $635

I-824 Application for action on an approved application or petition $403

TOTAL=$1458

My question is:

Do we have to pay the fees and send the application for my step-son living in Jamaica the same time as my husbands?

WAIT...LOL

Just found a link that says

"Please note that, if you file Form I-485 to adjust your status as a permanent resident on or after July 30, 2007, no additional fee is required to also file an application for employment authorization on Form I-765"

So we're saving $380 because we are filing the employment auth with the I-485....SWEET!

Not really sure how the process works doing it when he's in Jamaica but my sister in law is doing the same thing. She is filing for my brother's daughter in Jamaica. She said she added her to his i-130 and then she filed my niece i-130 separately. I don't know how it goes after the i-130.

hi

incorrect, the i485 is only to adjust status in the US, if he is living in Jamaica, he will go through consular processing and have his interview in Jamaica, so he doesn't need the i485

for now you only need to file the i130. at the time of the interview, you will need his mom's authorization to leave the country to live with you

the biometrics for your husband isn't paid later, you have to include the payment with the i485

the fees are before Dec 23rd, which will go up

i130: $420

i485: $1070

i765 no cost when filing together with the i485

so total $1490 plus the medical exam and vaccinations, whatever doctor will charge you for that

Morning Aleful,

If I am sending the I-130 for the child with my husbands paperwork shouldn't the total be $1910? Or is there no fee for the childs I-130?

His medical exams and vaccinations were free because I was able to add him to my health insurance and found a local civil surgeon who takes United Healthcare.

Hey guys!

So I filed my husbands paperwork (I-130, I-485 and I-765) got the NOA today in the mail.

Unfortunately, my step-sons I-130 was returned and they indicate that I must also send in the I-485.

I was under the impression that this was something I could do after the child immigrates here...he's still in Jamaica...any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
