Hey guys,

my fiancé and I are about to file our K-1 visa and I've got sooooo many questions to make sure everything is ok.

First of all, what address do I have to put in the Letter of Intend to Marry? The sample letter I found is addressed to the Office in Vermons, do I have to do the same (my fiancé lives in CA)?

Is it enough to send them a couple of Pictures of us together and all the boarding passes we still have? I read that some send in chat logs and so on, but it is difficult to find a proof for everytime we talked during the last 1,5 years ;)

Except from our letters of intend to marry, do we have to provide Information concerning our wedding plans? Date, location,....etc.? (If so, would you state all this on a different document?)

If I sign all the documents that need to be signed by me, scan them and my fiancé prints them out, will they be accepted given that they are scans?

And last but not least, do we have to pay the fee first and then send all the documents in by mail, including the proof of payment?

Thank you all so much for your help,

Lisa

Just write "to whom it may concern", does not need an address.

Send pictures, boarding passes and passport stamps to prove that you have met in person. Chat/phone logs are optional at this stage, but you'll most likely need it for the interview.

No need to detail any wedding plans (the visa process is unpredictable, so most people do not make plans).

Some say scaned signatures are accepted.

No, the payment must be included in the package in form of a check or money order.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Hey guys,

my fiancé and I are about to file our K-1 visa and I've got sooooo many questions to make sure everything is ok.

First of all, what address do I have to put in the Letter of Intend to Marry? The sample letter I found is addressed to the Office in Vermons, do I have to do the same (my fiancé lives in CA)? "To Whom It May Concern" should suffice.

Is it enough to send them a couple of Pictures of us together and all the boarding passes we still have? I read that some send in chat logs and so on, but it is difficult to find a proof for everytime we talked during the last 1,5 years ;)Boarding passes, scans of passport pages with customs stamps. Pictures. Receipts showing you were in their city, hotel bill. If you send chat logs, just takes 10 screen shots showing the date ranging from present back as far as you can to show a time line, just keep it simple.

Except from our letters of intend to marry, do we have to provide Information concerning our wedding plans? Date, location,....etc.? (If so, would you state all this on a different document?) Just letters of intent from both of you

If I sign all the documents that need to be signed by me, scan them and my fiancé prints them out, will they be accepted given that they are scans? My partner and I sent scans of his signature and we had no problems, but some people on here will say always have 'wet' signatures from both parties. I say the beneficiary can just scan their documents and send to the USC though.

And last but not least, do we have to pay the fee first and then send all the documents in by mail, including the proof of payment? The payment of $340 should be included in the actual I-129F petition packet

Thank you all so much for your help,

Lisa

Thank you all so much for your help :)

I've got one more question: how much into detail did you go when describing how you and your Partner met?

Keep it brief - explain where and when you first met in person. If that was more than two years ago, also include a statement about your last meeting (the requirement is to have seen each other in person within the last two years).

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.
