DS-260 - "Full Name in native language?

9 posts in this topic

Hello,

While waiting for NVC to assign Case number I have been gathering all the information that I will need to fill out DS-260 and one question I have about is Full Name in native language. Do I have to write my wife's name in native language or can I chose doesn't apply? We never provided USCIS a name in native language because all of my wife's document are in English and her name in Native language, Gujarati is pronounced the same way in English. Anyone has any suggestion to what should I do?

Leave it blank or not applied.

Thank you. I was worried that they may question this and make big deal out of it as my wife is going to take interview in Gujarati.

Never leave nothing blank.put an or none

Thanks for advice. I will put N/A as I also did same on I-130.

Anyone thinks that this can be a big deal at the interview? I didn't put the name in native alphabet on I-130 either, stupid me...

USCIS forms instruction clearly says "If an item is not applicable or the answer is none, then leave the space blank"

Thanks for advice. I will put N/A as I also did same on I-130.

Go through the instructions for DS-260 before writing "NA".

Alright, let me help you out as there is a lot of bad information going back and forth on this matter. Simply answer the question. Write her name in Gujrati and call it a day. Putting in NA or leaving it blank might end up generating an RFE asking you to provide her name in Gujrati after all. Why chance an RFE over something so simple ????

Just to add more information, I misunderstood the question on I-130 and put NA and it was approved with out RFE so that's the reason I am hesitant of putting name in Visa application as it may raise more questions as to why did we say NA on I-130. Do you think coming clean on DS-260 is better?
