Last night in Charlotte, protests over the police shooting death of a black man turned violent, leading to the shut down of I-85 as protesters broke into semis, stole cargo, and burned it on the interstate.

Situation on I-85 is only getting worsethis is an out of control nightmare.

So a black police officer in a department headed by a black man, kills a man who got out of a car with a gun, and the answer is kill more people and burn the town down because it's racist. If you get out of car with a gun and a police officer shots you, it's expected and normal. No sane person does that. Are the black officer and black police chief making that up because they are racist ?

Witnesses at the scene, including Scotts daughter and siblings, said the 43-year-old father of seven was reading a book in his car. But Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police maintain that he was carrying a handgun. The police report says a gun, not a book, was recovered at a scene.

Police dashcam and body camera footage is being reviewed by investigators but has yet to be released to the public amid the conflicting accounts. A new state law signed in July, will go into effect 1 October and would no longer consider police footage to be public record.

You know the law as well as I do right now we cant release it, CMPD chief Kerr Putney said Wednesday. Itd have a negative impact on the integrity of the case, and thats something were not gonna do.
