Hi everyone.. I had my interview and they issued me 221g requesting for my filipino us citizen fiance's cenomar. He never marry here in the Philippines prior to migrating although he got married in the US but he's divorced since 2007. I brought his divorce decree but they didn't look at it in the interview.

My questions are:

Is it really needed? Why?

How long will it take for them to review and decide for the visa?

Your kind response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you..

You are going nowhere if you don't carefully read and respond with what they are asking from the 221g. You can't pick and choose what you want to send. Gather the requested documents. Your are looking at another 2-3 weeks after they the receive the requested documents.

Your USC fiance is a naturalized USC from the Philippines, the embassy knows this. Embassy makes the rules - Best advice is to go to PSA and get the CENOMAR, bring a copy of the 221g request to PSA and they will forward the document to the embassy.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

I already requested a copy of his cenomar in Pasay where they have instructed me to go after my interview today. They said that the US Embassy in Manila gets the document from them and usually after two days. My question is, when is the best time to make a follow up on our case in US Embassy Manila and how?

I guess, i will just have to wait for now. I'm feeling sad and frustrated because i miss my fiance a lot and have to go to this process.

Thanks guys for your help. I really appreciate it. God bless us all.

There is no follow up. You simply have to be patient and wait for them to complete the processing of your application. Check status on the CEAC website. Expect it to be a couple more weeks once USEM receives the document.

You're right. I've got nothing else to do but to be patient and stay positive although it's a challenge for me at most times. Do you think that a visa will be refused due to this problem?

Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate your help. I really do hope that nothing's wrong with our application or the interview itself. At the end of my interview, i did not hear "congratulations.." I'm just feeling sad and negative at times but i will keep on praying and hope for the best. ??

Thanks again. ??

Asking the CO if you passed would have done no harm. The fact that they kept your passport is a sign, notwithstanding a good CENOMAR, you'll get your final approval soon.

Have to have patience.

Hi everyone.. If i may ask, i've called PSA/NSO Pasay and was told that they have already forwarded my request for my fiance's cenomar to the US embassy in Manila today.

How will i know if the embassy already have it? Can i call or email them to get an answer? or Wait? I just want to be sure that they've received it or else a sure denial will be on its way due to not receiving the document needed which i know i've requested from PSA as soon as i've finished my interview.

Also, my ceac status is still on Ready status, the only difference is the date changed to my interview date on status updated, when do they usually change to AP status? I mean, the timeline for the "Ready, AP, Ready, AP" status in ceac website. I was interviewed 9/20/2016.

Your kind response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Seriously... you need to RELAX! :) Don't call the embassy, don't email the embassy ... just keep checking your status on CEAC everyday.... not all day long ;) If the status stays the same but the date changes that means someone has looked at your file. Status could go from READY back to AP and then READY again, at some point after READY the status will change to ISSUED once the embassy is all happy with everything.

For now RELAX!! You are going to drive yourself crazy...

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!
