How to select regional language as interview language for mumbai consulate?

Hello,

Does anyone know how can I select regional language, Gujarati, as the interview language. My wife more comfortable in having interview in native language which is offered by Mumbai Consulate. However, I am not able to find any documents or guidance on how to select the language. Some one here on VJ suggested calling embassy directly and they told me that I will have to reschedule. Can someone please let me know if there is another way or if they ask preferred language at the time of interview?

NVC just received her case. You'll get a set of instructions, including choice of language, once interview is scheduled a few months down the road.

That's what I thought would happen but I haven't seen anyone mentioning that they received the instructions on choice of language. That's why I am confused as each comment I read seems to have different information.

June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!

Once your interview is schedule you will receive an email with instruction to make appointment for your fingerprint. At this stage you are required to make an account online where you can select the language of your choice and also select the location where you would like to pick up your visa.
