So I'm assembling my i-130 packet, and then it dawned on me.

If I enclose a cheque, from my Canadian bank for the $420.00....after the currency exchange it's not going to be $420.00....

With the constantly changing exchange rate, how does this work? Do I send the CAD in the exchange rate so that it will equal $420.00 USD?

I'm so confused :\ please advise!

You can not pay using a Canadian bank account.

As is stated on the I-130 instructions, the money MUST come from a U.S. bank account.

Interview Result: Approved!!
Visa Issued: 21-February-2017     Visa issued same day as interview
DHL tracking information received: 22-February-2017     DHL tracking number appeared 28 hours after interview, scheduled for delivery the next day
Visa in hand: 23-Feb-2017
US POE (Minneapolis): 26-Feb-2017

What many people end up doing is sending their packet to a trusted friend or relative in the U.S., who then writes a check using their U.S. Bank account and then sends your packet to be filed :) Of course, you can wire your friend or relative money using any standard money wiring service.

There may be other methods, too, but someone else with more experience will have to chime in! The method I stated above seems to be commonly used here on the forums, though.
