My wife has her PI passport and temp GC. Her passport expires in Dec 2016. Does she just renew her PI passport to be able to travel or is there a special US one she has to apply for?

She needs to renew her PH passport through one of the PH Consulates that has jurisdiction over the state you live in.

If you have not done so already, you will have to report your marriage to the Philippines Consulate which has jurisdiction over the place where you were married before they will renew your wife's passport.

You can usually accomplish both things at the same time at the Consulate or at an outreach event in your area. The outreach events are posted on the Consulate's web site.
