Quick question!

Is "green card not received in the mail" considered "lost"? :/ I hope not.. I dont wanna pay $500 to have it mailed again.. :/

I've no idea how they would classify that. I would like to think that if you never received the card in the mail, that they can track that, and the burden would be on them, not you... But I honestly don't know. You should definitely speak with USCIS as soon as you can to get clarification 👍

Yeah. That's true. I have 2 accounts. 1 of Uscis account it says I will get the GC around 30 days, and the second account of DHS it says I will get the GC around 120days...speechless...

oh I did not know that there is DHS account.. is it useful?

WHat's the link for creating an account for that?

I see..

Well, I tried calling the USCIS number but never got a hold of any person.. All I managed to do is to turn in an online inquiry.. Hopefully that will do the magic!

Thanks for your response!

I do not think so. I might be wrong, but it seems to me that if you do not get your green card, you are not responsible to pay the $500 to get another one. What would be the point that USCIS writes you in your approval letter to contact them if you do not receive your green card in the time that they tell you  in it(60 days). I would expect that USCIS takes the steps to provide you another green card if it were needed by the circumstances.

04-24-2006 I started to work in the US with a TN-2 Visa.

06-21-2014 We got married.
06-22-2014 - 06-19-2014 Honey moon in Monterey CA.
07-01-2014 I moved officially to my new home.
08-14-2014 We sent the forms for AOS(I-130 and I-485) plus EAD (I-765) and advanced parole (I-131)
08-15-2014 USCIS got my package. (Day 1)
08-20-2014 USCIS sent me a text message that they got my case on 08-15-2014 (Day 5)
09-08-2014 Biometric appointment. (Day 23)
11-03-2014 Advance parole approved. (Day 80)

Just woke up to see this stupid email update from USCIS about my mysteriously not delivered GC!

=======================================================================================================================

Type of service requested:
-- Non-Delivery of Permanent Resident Card

The status of this service request is:

On April 16, 2018, your legal representative notified USCIS that you have not received the Permanent Resident Card that our records show was sent. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue can be resolved.

On February 15, 2018, we sent your Permanent Resident Card to the address we have on file. The tracking information below indicates your card was delivered February 20, 2018.

USPS Tracking Information: ###################

USCIS does not accept liability for secure documents, including Permanent Resident Cards, upon receipt by the U.S Postal Service. Replacement of a card lost, stolen, or otherwise misplaced during transit requires the submission of a newly-completed Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, and applicable fee(s).

Just great..

Nope, still in the same place since I moved to the states!

And the tracking number shows the City name and the Zip Code which both are correct!

But it doesn't show the Street address and the apartment number.. Of course.. What a joke..

Ugh this is crazy! I'd go to post office talk to supervisor and  request investigation ... I did it once for lost package and surprisingly usps found it at different building. At least something.

I don't remember the thread but I remember someone got USCIS to send another one for free. I think they filed a missing mail piece report with the postmaster general, possibly got their local representative or senator involved. Do some googling, don't shell out that money just yet.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I wonder if USCIS put the street address on there at all, or if they messed up? I don't know if that makes any difference for them liability wise?

I would go to your local post office, and ask them to investigate - Hopefully they have it. If not, I would get a report of their findings, and contact USCIS again before filling and paying a fee.

Yea, will check with the attorney and see what we can do about this..

Thanks for the info!

It's so frustrating that the approval letter made it to the mail box on Feb 15th. But the GC didnt make it.. :/

Unfortunately USPS tracking only ever shows the city and zip. I think that's what darnit means.

Yea, I'll check with the local post office and see if they can offer any help.
