My passport expires early next year but I was thinking to renew it now. I am still awaiting my case number from the NVC as my I-129F just got approved last week. However, I am not sure if I should keep my current passport throughout this process or renew it. Since it will expire soon I was thinking to get a new passport so that way when I receive my visa attached to my passport I won't have to worry about it expiring.

Would you recommend this?

Yes, definitely. My fiance did the same thing. There should be at least 6 months left before your passport expiration prior for visa issuing. It is a good idea to renew prior to completing the DS160.

My fiance renewed his passport a little early no problems.

Okay, I was worried about running into any issues.

Thank you
