Visa correction process

Hi fellow VJ members,

I was ecstatic when I received my k1 visa but the smile left my face when I saw that the birthdate was wrong. So I called the hotline and was told to send back the entire package to the US embassy manila via 2go, with cover letter, copy of plane ticket and the form from website. So I sent it last Aug. 26. Until now it's still in the embassy. My flight is next week.

Has anyone here had to correct his/her visa? How long did it take and did you send it via 2go or walked in to the embassy?

How long did it take and did you send it via 2go or walked in to the embassy? Both. The Embassy will direct those who have a flight within days to walk in and those who have scheduled further out, like you, they will ask to use the procedure your using. Sending it through 2Go.

You will have your corrected visa in time for your flight. Concentrate on your remaining days in the Philippines and enjoy your time with family and friends.

Anyone there had a issue about visa correction?how long it takes to get corrected mine i was submitted 4 days ago haven't heard yet.. thanks

No one can say for sure how long it will take. We have same day turnaround but we also have seen 2 - 3 weeks. You should start your own thread and not post in one that is old.

Are you in Manila? I would advise you to just go to the embassy for faster procedure. It took mine two weeks but I had to personally go there two working days before my flight (so I could attend CFO seminar day before flight) since they were not replying to my follow up calls and emails. They were able to fix it within the day (went there early morning and claimed the corrected visa/passport at 2go mall of Asia in the afternoon).

Thanks  im from cebu i was just submitted the packet via 2go curier 4 days ago. And now i was checking the status it shows" application received" and "case is open"  but anyway i  already done my CFO though im just waiting for my visa to get corrected and go back to CFO for my cfo sticker..

After a week if you see no status change, zing them an email (only ONE, no benefit to emailing over and over) and/or call the embassy.

Yes thank you hank  i will just wait  what happened as they said have to check the status after two business days

Do keep checking status on the CEAC site.  USEM is usually fairly quick to correct the typo and get the package sent back out.   Like said if after a week and there is no status change do call and/or email.

Yes thanks for the info  appreciated hopefully they can fixed it very soon so i can go back to the cfo for my sticker and set my flights

Remember, Monday is a holiday, the embassy will not be open.  One more day that doesn't count.

Hello is anyone here have idea how long the AP takes?i was checking my status on ceac after "application recieved" it changed now to administrative processing just curious how long it takes and is it possible i received it very soon?thanks
