DS 160 with 7months OLD PASSPORT

Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask some advice as we are now in processing the approved K1 visa (USCIS) and already filling up the DS160. Our case status is already in "READY".

QUESTION IS:

Is it okay to submit the ds160 with 7months old passport and use the renewed one in interview? I have my old passport now but im waiting for the new one. Unfortunately it might take 4-8weeks to release and its just 3weeks now. I want to submit it now to be able to look for available slot in interview. Im just getting worried that we might get us late and nothing to get a slot before our noa2 expired (december 2 ). I was thinking its okay coz ill be having the two passports with me anyway but i want to make sure everything will be okay.

June 16, 2016: = Updated petitioner Date of Birth ( USCIS mispelled it )

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you for your response. Luckily i got my new passport now and change the DS160 into my new passport number. :)

but now im facing another problem on paying the visa fee and scheduling interview in Aby=u Dhabi USEM... :(

June 16, 2016: = Updated petitioner Date of Birth ( USCIS mispelled it )

  • February 21, 2019 - Received NOA with 18 month extension for wife ONLY, not 14yo dependent who is on application;
  • March 12, 2019      - Notified USCIS that we never rcvd i797 for 14 yo minor, they provided a case # and submitted a Svc Request
  • May 2.2019             -  No forward motion, we called again and despite there was an officer assigned to this service request nothing happened/ no extension. We filed an InfoPass and have an appointment for Monday 6th for passport stamp.
  • May 6, 2019 - Attended InfoPass appointment in Philadelphia local USCIS local office for 930. This was for a never rcvd 797 for our 14yo dependent. Arrived 9:15, not crowded at all. No extra photos or fingerprint taken. We were in the car (lots of parking available) at 945. Pleasant female officer, she updated and checked for no changes. Stamped passport, explained is valid for 1 year. The took the green card which expired 5/4/19. No issues or problems.. I asked about the non receipt and she said it's pretty common.. 
  • August 23 - Biometrics NOA, scheduled for 9/3 @1pm
  • September 3 - Biometrics
  • September 4 -Fingerprint Review was completed
  • January 8 - ROC, Card Being Processed, Citizenship is next!
  • January 15 2020  - Cards Delivered

Hi,

Yes i did under non immigrant, but after i register and have to choose which visa i have i cant find the k1 fiance visa in the choices. Ive read that it should be in immigrant visa. So what i did is register under immigrant visa using my other emails as the one i used in non immigrant was not allowed to use under immigrant. After i register there is one page that i have to enter information such as name,surname,ds160#, case # etc..and every time i click the "create applicant" its not allowing me to go into the next page. Instead its giving me this message under the case number " is not ready for interview".

I dont know if i did something wrong and if using two emails will be a problem. I need guide and hope you can help me with this please. Im sorry i feel like im stupid and so worried about it. I guess i messed up something. :cry::cry::cry:

It says ready since Sept 1. You can check how my case went through into my timeline. Our case was mistakenly sent to a wrong embassy. We request a transfer and for about 5days our case status is "transfer in progress". Then it became "ready" september 1 - 7 and the letter after our case number was change into ABD. Here is our case number before when its in riyadh. RID2016****** 01 RID. Thats after checking status on the above link. Then after its in "READY" our case number become. RID2016****** 01 ABD.

So i believed it has been already received by Abu dhabi. But im wondering why it doesnt let me do the payment or schedule interview. :cry::cry:

some people say you just submit the ds160 and cant pay until dates are available and others say they just pay without difficulty. I can only assume it was timing, if dates are open they were able to pay.. They are very confusing in that embassy. I keep looking around...

Have you submitted your ds160 yet? Perhaps you cant pay until your 160 is confirmed...

  • February 14 - EAD  & Advanced Parole Approved and being mailed. 
  • May 4 2017. Approved without interview, Card being Produced
  • May 7, 2017 recvd approval for i485
  • May 10 2017 rcvd Green Cards in mail.!!
  • Next step in 20 months to remove conditions.

 

Removal of Conditions Begins by end of first week of February

 

  • February 5, 2019   - Printing package;
  • February 11, 2019 - ROC package mailed;
  • February 13, 2019 - Package delivered to Dallas Tx;
  • February 15, 2019 - Credit Card Charged;
  • February 19, 2019 - Electronic Notification Rec'd, Case Location LIN - Nebraska;
  • February 21, 2019 - Received NOA with 18 month extension for wife ONLY, not 14yo dependent who is on application;
  • March 12, 2019      - Notified USCIS that we never rcvd i797 for 14 yo minor, they provided a case # and submitted a Svc Request
  • May 2.2019             -  No forward motion, we called again and despite there was an officer assigned to this service request nothing happened/ no extension. We filed an InfoPass and have an appointment for Monday 6th for passport stamp.
  • May 6, 2019 - Attended InfoPass appointment in Philadelphia local USCIS local office for 930. This was for a never rcvd 797 for our 14yo dependent. Arrived 9:15, not crowded at all. No extra photos or fingerprint taken. We were in the car (lots of parking available) at 945. Pleasant female officer, she updated and checked for no changes. Stamped passport, explained is valid for 1 year. The took the green card which expired 5/4/19. No issues or problems.. I asked about the non receipt and she said it's pretty common.. 
  • August 23 - Biometrics NOA, scheduled for 9/3 @1pm
  • September 3 - Biometrics
  • September 4 -Fingerprint Review was completed
  • January 8 - ROC, Card Being Processed, Citizenship is next!
  • January 15 2020  - Cards Delivered

 

N400 Citizenship :)

 

  • November 28, 2020     - N400 Filed online and paid via CC
  • November 28, 2020     - NOA received electronically

Have you submitted your ds160 yet? Perhaps you cant pay until your 160 is confirmed...

Yes i already submitted my DS160. And yes it was so confusing. I open the link you give me and read it. Sigh....im so confused. This is so frustrating.

May 9,2016: = sent i-129f to USCIS

May 13,2016 : = uscis app NOA1

May 17,2016: = NOA1 rcvd and dated same date

June 16, 2016: = Updated petitioner Date of Birth ( USCIS mispelled it )

August 3,2016: = NOA2. I checked our case to app and its APRROVED!!!! yehey "Thanks LORD" :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

August 9,2016: = NOA2 hardcopy received Dated August 3,2016 :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:
August 16, 2016: = NVC RECEIVED OUR CASE :)
Aug 18, 2016: = Case # INV #
CASE STATUS: = "IN TRANSIT" praying to be ready so soon!! (L)
Aug 21, 2016: = Case Status " READY " thank you LORD. :idea:
Aug 22, 2016: = Received Packet 3. But found out our case mistakenly sent to wrong US Embassy. :cry:
Aug 28,2016: = CASE IN TRANSFER PROCESSING :idea:
Sept 1, 2016: = CASE Received by Abu Dhabi USEM status "READY" ...YESSS :)
Sept 7:29: = case status date change still "READY"
October 20,2016: = RECEIVED PACKET 3!! YAY..THANK YOU LORD
October 27,2016: = Interview. Guide me O' Lord and approved our petition. Thank you. :) APPROVED!!!!!!!!!
