Error in I-129 F and DS-160 Application

Hello!

My fiance and I just received his birth certificate in the mail. His mother's first (given) name is not the one we have been using on all of our applications to date. Apparently, the name he thought was her first name is actually her nickname. Is this going to be a problem for us when he interviews at the US Embassy in Amsterdam, when he comes to the US, or when we request an Adjustment of Status? Anyone have any experience with this kind of minor error?

Thanks!!

Hi! We had the same error though what happened was my name has dash so its supposed to be Keith - Gerone but when we got out NOA1 it din't had a dash. So being our OC selves for this application, fiancè petitioner had to call to ensure we update our name. Just make sure you get your receipt number first then you can call. Took 30 days to have it updated. Though not exactly same,it resembles to ours. Hope this helps ☺
