My stand alone i-130 case was at Potomac since start PD 4/19. Every number around mine had been approved or had an RFE sent/received. Then on July 13th, I got transferred to the National Benefits Center, apparently to "speed up" process. I just called customer service and was told they are only processing I-130's @ NBC from JANUARY 24TH!! This is insanity! How will this speed up the process? Why did I get singled out!? No one else, within thousands of numbers, was transferred. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

*** Thread is moved from the USCIS Service Centers forum to the CR-1 Case Progress subforum, for possible answers. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I have found out very little solid information. My gut feeling is that my file needed additional background checks (my hubby has a removal order already out there). But they may be just moving cases around to stay within the processing time of 5-6 months. I was already at Potomac, which was moving fast. Every case around mine, within thousands, had an action on it of either approved or RFE send/received. My case seems to have been singled out. I also heard a rumor that cases sent to NBC have a higher chance of having an interview, but again I can't be sure of that. The I-130 Facebook group seems to have alot of transfers within the last few days though. Who knows, just have to wait and see!

it didnt' say. Just got the text alert that it had been transferred to another center and to watch for a notification explaining it.

Yea you'll get the NOA in the mail explaining where it was sent to and why. It's 13 business days out from my transfer and no action yet. What annoys me most is the the non-existent processing time for Potomac and non-existent processing time for NBC.

yes.  we were transferred to nbc in July.   i did a congressional inquiry in October amd found my case was transferred to my local office.  Then ombudsman told me in December that we were awaiting the scheduling of an interview.  Then i received notice of an interview  in the mail in january.  then we had interview in feb 1 and were approved.  if the beneficiary is in the country they automatically schedule an interview.

wow thats amazing, yes the beneficiary is in the country

so how did you do congressional inquiry?

You can find your local lawmakers: http://www.senate.gov/senators/contact/senators_cfm.cfm?State=PA and see if they can help.  The USC would need to reside in their district.   My senator had a "get help" link on their website and I was able to contract them through that.

How long after you were transferred to NBC took to schedule your interview. My case is same as yours. Including brazilian wife here with me.

The case was transferred from NBC to my local office.  We were approved (at a marriage interview in Philadelphia) on Feb 1 2017.   So it took from July to Feb.
