Without giving the OP false hope, what are the chances of the OP succeeding on the argument that he did not abandoned his LPR status if he has to argue it in front of an immigration judge who can terminate his LPR status for abandonment?

I'm saying zero.

Would you encourage the OP to go this route?

I agree, that's what happened to me, my mom decided to return to our country when I was 11, as a minor I had no say. I lived 25 years out of the US and of course lost my LPR status.

My mom then returned to the US years later and applied for me, I had to start from scratch, but I retained my GC and SS number as they are given for life

Even though I was only 5 at the time and had no choice due to I was an infant? Ive only recently found out about all this. I believe my parents obtained them through the lottery??

A 5 year old is not a infant
