When you visit to get married just be honest.

We got married in the US last August and when we were coming in we (or more importantly I) got asked what the purpose of the visit was. And I was so excited (this was about two weeks before our big white wedding) that I was practically bouncing when I told them we were getting married. The Officer laughed at my excitement, and then did ask a few questions to make sure we weren't planning on doing an Adjustment of Status. We just showed them our tickets out of the US, and our work permit stamps for the Cayman Islands and they were good with that. In your case I would make sure you have proof of your return ticket and proof of your course to prove ties to the UK.

You can email your WhatsApp chat to an email or Gmail account then print or save. It will produce a .txt document that includes the date, time and person you are chatting with as well as the discussion. You also have the option of omitting all media in the chat before you email it to yourself.

Instructions: Tap the three dots to view the person's contact, chose "More" then "Email Chat". Choose your email address and send.

I also use the SMS Backup+ app for Android to capture text messages and create a call log. All messages and calls are backed up to my Gmail account in two folders labelled "SMS" and "Call Log". I was then able to print any messages in a particular date range to produce with my I-130 submission.

My husband and I have been married for 2 years and don't have joint accounts yet either but I used our marriage certificate tax returns, life insurance polices, homeowner's insurance bill and leasing agreement instead.

Okay thank you!

Which address do we need to use?

Her address for grad school where we will be living when I move, but it'll just be temporary for a few years?

or her registered address? Aka the address on her license, bank accounts, etc? Which is her parents house?

It is probably best to use her parents address since you are not staying at the other address yet. I think you can use either one. whichever one you are more comfortable with receiving mail as the USCIS will send you a couple of notices first will be acceptance of the petition. the second notice will be the approval of the petition.

I will be honest! I will have my flight return ticket with me, but what else could I bring? I will only have a course letter I was sent a while back with the course dates on. Would this be enough? I am far from going to attempt an AOS, so hopefully I'll be fine! :)

Thanks! We did some screen shots of chats with different dates etc in them :) Do you know if its possible to pull up a whole facetime history with one contact? We have a lot of those!

Okay! She is currently at her school address and that's the address I'll end up living at? Still use the parents?

I think our evidence document will be around 15 pages, this is sufficient enough?

It's quality, not quantity, you need to focus on. We sent over 200 pages which was probably a lot more than we needed to but we have a more complex case.

15 pages of text messages such as "I love you xxx" and hearts and smileys are worthless. 15 pages of solid evidence of time spent together such as passport stamps, hotel receipts, photos of you with each other's families, and evidence of being a bona fide couple such as being the beneficiary on each other's will or pension plan, etc are very valuable.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Only two pages are texts. The rest is photos of us, passport stamps, receipts of hotels and gifts, etc?
