WAAAH!! So Im sitting pretty here enjoying my break for all of the AOS process when i realized i have to do one more thing. To Report my Marriage! haha which I completely forgot! its been a month now. I live in RI where the consulate is in NY which happen to have 30 days timeframe to report the marriage which is obviously am super late. Yes, Now i need to have an Affidavit of Delayed Registration and submit. BUT!!! the thing is my husband went back to Japan now where he's station at and he'll be there for 6 good months and i need him for personal appearance or his notarized signature! was thinking since we're already late..

-should we just report this after 6 months when he gets back? ;)

-can I submit my ROM docs to other state Consulate like Washington DC?(closest) um..without rejection idk

-as per me I really wanna send this now for my peace of mind

any possible ideas please?!

Yes you can wait you will need to send Affidavit of Explanation with everything else that is required

No you can not do it in Washington DC

You could try the out reach program

ROM can be reported at anytime. Some never report. Must reported at the Consulate that has jurisdiction over the area to which you were married. If it's RI then NY is where you submit. Wash DC will reject you so don't waste your time.
