Hello!

I received the NVC welcome letter and it said the next step was to pay the aos fee. So I did that 6/18/16. Then I was remembering that on the USCIS website it said to submit the DS-261 Choice of Agent form first. So I did that today 6/23/16. I want to do everything in the correct order to avoid processing delays. What is the correct order? And what do I do next? Should I contact the NVC? Please assist me with this if you've already gone through this process correctly. Thank you so much!

Hello, I know my last question was about the correct steps to follow. This time I am wondering if I wait for a letter or email from NVC, or do I just go on with the next step. I have completed the DS-261 and paid the AOS fee. The choice of agent has been approved and the fee says paid. The IV fee has also been opened up. So do I continue submitting forms and pay the next fee? Or do I wait for the NVC to request something? Thank you so much for the help!

If you can pay the IV fee, do so now, and you can send in all of the financial and civil documents at any time (follow the AOS/IV package tips in the NVC Process guide here on VJ). You're the driver of the process right now. Do what you can and don't wait for NVC to tell you what to do first.

B&Z, Thank you so much for that information. I like the way you put it, that I'm the driver now. I wanted to make sure there won't be a request from NVC for something. The way I understand it is I have one more fee, the DS-260, and two packages to send, in that order. And I don't have to wait to be asked. Cool!

You're welcome :) However, you will send AOS/IV documents together in the same package...not two packages. This is detailed in the link that was provided here by NLR.

Okay, thank you. One package not two. Also, I have read through your timeline, and I have a question. What does "IV Fee unlocked but not invoiced" mean? I checked on the page where I paid the AOS fee and it says paid, and it also gave me the option to check the box to pay the IV fee. How do I know if it has been invoiced? Will I receive an invoice in the mail or email? Thank you again for clarifying this information.

That means my DS-261 was reviewed (by NVC) and the checkbox for the IV fee was available, but I wasn't able to click on it and pay the fee because I hadn't received the IV fee invoice by email from NVC yet (meaning I tried to pay it, but CEAC wouldn't let me)...it took another day to receive the email and then I could pay it.

Have you tried to pay the IV fee yet?

Also...I found this particular guide to be helpful in getting through NVC as fast as possible: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut
