Are you looking for hotel or a hostel? Because the coffin looking beds are usually at a hostel. A good hotel in the Philippines will cost anywhere from $30-50 depending on where you plan on staying?

Sorry $30-50 a night. Which part of the philippines are you going?

Try Orbitz, Kyack, priceline, and the other types of sites.

I flew last year around Aug 15th and it was 1001 round trip through Orbitz

I flew this year mid April round trip for 1050, Directly through United Airlines

both where out of Lexington KY, no international airport.

The last time I went, I went to United Airlines directly, it was way cheaper then the travel sites.

I am looking for a one way from Manila for the Fiancee here soon and it looks like July & Aug is not a good time, the flights are way high but get cheaper tward the end of Aug.

I was checking from Manila to Lex, but the best thing to do is just sit at the computer and start looking at the travel sites we have all listed as well as check the international airlines web sites..

It's a long flight, be sure to stock up on Dramamine and things to keep you busy as not all flights have entertainment..

I noticed Delta was more expensive then United, but It may depend..

As for as living there and working, yeah good luck finding a job, it is very very hard for non Filipinos to work in the Philippines. As for as just living there you need to read on the expat forms and watch there you tube videos, from what little I have read, it is easy to live in the PH but there is a little paperwork to do, plus you have to leave and come back every so often, maybe once a year, but I do not remember now. however I did read that if you are married to a Filipino citizen that its is much easier to live there full time.

but you will have to ask people that actually have done this.

I also plan to move there and live out my life, but I am going to wait till I retire,or get to broken down to work anymore, but I got a good 20 years or more left before then, well not the broken down part, I am well on my way for that :)

As noted by others, working in the Philippines isn't going to happen unless you have an employer there already. Maybe do something internet based.

As for visas to stay long, when processing through immigrant at the airport ask for the 59 day extension being you are planning to stay longer than the 30 days. I did this one one trip, took a little time for them to get it done, if you don't want to do it at the airport you can head to BI later.

Marriage not possible unless you have $10K ????????? Huh??

Don't see you getting a visa to work at a call center. Work visas for the Philippines are difficult to get. I think that idea is a pipe dream. I gave you a link to BI in the Phils in a previous post.

:secret: My friend, a little wisdom will carry you a long way. You NEED TO RESEARCH and not research with an Aunty or Big Uncle or my friends friend because you are dealing with your LIFE and you can get kicked out of the country but not before paying a HUGE FINE or worse end up in jail. Do the right thing now and follow and research with the links that others have given you. Many here have experience so listen and ask questions of those that are here as many have experienced or have the knowledge you seek.

Just my two centavos. <_<

Not sure where or what you reached, but you have a boat load of bad info. You haven't click on the link I provided and did any reading have you? That link to the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines.

You are allowed to stay in the Philippines for 30 days automatically (not 21 days), after that you have to head to BI and renew your tourist visa for another 59 days (not 90 days). I gave you links for details.

If you are married to a filipina you can get a marriage visa (there is info on this in the link I provided earlier also), there is NO $10K requirement with this ... you are mixing your apples and oranges ;)

Being married to a filipina does NOT allow you to get a work visa.
