I've sent my fiancee lots of gifts for holidays since we've been apart. I told her that maybe she should wear Baltimore Ravens Jersey that I sent her to the interview as more proof. She said that she has to dress business like, but she will dress her daughter in the Ravens t-shirt I sent. Any advice or is that a little too much? :goofy:

I wouldn't go crazy formal, but you do want to look presentable and that you're taking this seriously. I know I made sure I had a nice shirt and sweater, with black jeans and boots on for my AOS interview and I felt confident just by taking the extra effort to have pride in my appearance. If you turn up in faded jeans and a t-shirt that's seen better days it just doesn't look like you care. Not something they'd ever deny someone over, but treat the interview process with respect and you'll get the same back.

It really depends on her comfort level. Obviously it sounds like she's not going to rock up in the equivalent of joggers and a vest top so I think you're fine.

I know if I can't decide what to wear to look nice I opt for my trusted combo of a nice white shirt and a pair of dark blue or black jeans. It's slightly more informal, but you still look presentable. If it's warm a nice sheer blouse is a winner too!

I agree with the serious side

you need to be completely serious for the interview and show some respect for the CO and embassy

yes, many go in casual, but where they approved?

the one thing to consider is weather, hot- then summer causual may be accepted

my Adil dressed in a blazer and dress pants / no jeans / a young man in jeans there having interview was denied WHY? we will not know

probably not his clothes but clothes do make an impression

No problem up here. But guess it depends on what people see as casual and what the country sees as casual.

you are not in a high fraud country

those, who are, must be completely serious

a smile, will get u this repsonse, "you smile you lie, no visa"

Adil smiled when they said "what does your family think of the marriage? He smiled as i spent a month with them and they love me

Yea, when I suggested this, she laughed hysterically. :jest: But now I'm wondering, Business casual or Business formal? Plus, she's watching this thread lol

Nice - casual. When we were there my wife wore a nice blouse, jeans. Whereas I was a bum, I wore shorts & a polo shirt

I went with my parents when they were interviewed at the embassy, I honestly wonder why people dress too business. Interview is quick and consul looks at lots of paper so I dont think they look at the clothes. Ofcourse no shorts or tank top and likes. Smart casual is good. There's a

Lot of walking too in and out embassy and inside so wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
