Please help! My spouse had his interview for a CR1 Visa on May 2nd. He was told he was approved and welcomed to the US and told his passport and visa will arrive within 2 weeks. We are now in week 7 and still have not heard anything from the consulate. We check the CEAC site hourly and it never changes from "Ready" status and the date has not changed since May 31st. We have tried calling the consulate, the Dept of State, emailing, everything and can not get any one to help or tell us where we are in the process or how long it will be. What can we DO!???? We have our lives on hold and now living with friends and family waiting to receive his visa so we can move to the US.

I know you cannot call the consulate, but in the paperwork they gave you there is a paper with how to contact the consulate via email. Go through your paperwork and send them an email. They will respond, not immediately but they will. Give them all the information you have and they will contact you. I have read a few cases where folks were waiting less time than this and they were able to reach out via email successfully. Hope this helps! Good luck!! :)

Thanks for the reply. We have emailed them 3 times so far and the first 2 times we received the same blanket statement:

"Good morning,

Thank you for your email!

Kindly note your file is under consular review. As soon as we have an update on the status of the case we will gladly inform you.

Best regards,"

Third time we were just ignored.

Are you under administrative review? Until your CEAC status is issued, the case is still being processed.

Is your spouse Canadian or does he have mixed citizenship/nationalities ? Ie. anything that would trigger a security audit? [Travel to MENA countries, etc]

Right now it would be a waiting game.
