I'm waiting for my husband's interview to be scheduled and the NVC seems to be taking their sweet time. Our case completed at the NVC on May 17th andthe NVC says that they are still waiting to get notification from the embassy on when they can schedule the interview. This has been the most annoying part of the process to date. I can't understand why we can't schedule our own interviews. That process seems to be muh quicker.

I mean i have not seen as many July interviews scheduled for santo domingo on the website . And they dont have july interviews on the embassy website either. Idk what to expect anymore. Im not even sure if august will be a posisbility. Lets hope for the best and please keep me posted if u get an interview.

I called yesterday and asked why we can't schedule our own interviews and the agent gave me a long, drawn out explanation about the embassy only having a certain amount of slots for the IR-1/CR-1 Visas (among many others). I wasn't happy with the answer. It still makes no sense that people filing for Fiance visas can schedule their own appointments while people who are married cannot.

And let me add i was filing out the DS 160 first available on Thursday would have been June 20....the problem is you save the $$$ we are paying to have the fiance visa vs the spousal visa....

And that where it differs.

Im waiting for my NOA2 and I will prob have an earlier interview then you by a few months... Its though one

I got in contact with someone with a CC date the same as mine and she told me she scheduled her own interview. She continued to tell me that her friend waited months for an interview and logged into the ustraveldocs website and decided to schedule it herself so that's why she also scheduled her own. I'm confused. Would there be an issue if we were to schedule our own interviews ? Clearly the slots are available so what's the hold up?
