Good evening,

We want to to apply for a US visa this summer holiday to travel as from end of July for only 8 days. We will have an invite from a relative to reside in their resident as they have a big house. Husband and two children are holders of British biometric passport and wife has a Biometric British spouse visa. Husband works and has a sufficent income and family savings. wife works off and on when jobs are available through agency. Our dilemma is that we already booked for our travel tickets.

We want to know what we need from our end to make a successful visa application. Our concerns is wife's application, how are we able to support her giving her the best chance opportunity for a guarantee visa.

What do we need to provide as proof that she will be returning and has ties in the UK.

What does our relative need to do in order to invite us apart from a letter? Does anyone have an example of a good invite ?

How long does it take to apply for a visa as we want to apply in early July.

Any advise or pointer will be highly appreciated. Many thanks

I assume husband and children will (or have) register for the VWP and travel using ESTA?

The wife will have to apply for a tourist visa, look at the US embassy in London procedures. She will need to apply on her own merits (invitation letters from family in the US is more often considered negative than positive), showing her ties to the UK (return ticket helps, but more importantly proof of family, employment, house and other commitments).

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Strong ties is needed for wife , also if she have traveled to a 1st

world country & returned to UK ot could help. but with the whole

family traveling toUS to stay with family in a big house in the US,

they may not be very receptive with strong US ties & place. She can Apply

who knows, but get good proofs of why she would return to the UK & 8 days????
