What does this USCIS case update mean? (K1 AOS)

Hi everyone

On march 1st I filed I-485, I-765, and I-131 concurrently for AOS from K1. Since the I've been waiting for my EAD (I-765) to be approved. It has now been more than 90 days.

I did a 75 day service request for my EAD on May 16th, and all that time the service request had not been assigned. Today I got an update on the USCIS website about my I-765 that says :

"As of June 1, 2016, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number TxxxxMSC, is on hold while we request your case file. "

I don't know what this update means. Other people have gotten updates that their inquiry has been "assigned" but mine says its" on hold "and they are requesting my case file.

If someone can shed some light on what this update means I'll be grateful.

Hi again,

I couldn't edit my first post but my question has been answered. My inquire has been in fact assigned for processing.

I was having some issues with the website so the page didn't fully load and I wasn't able to see my "case history" and could only see the "next steps"which is the status I was referring to in my first post. After reloading a few more times I was able to see my case history and I'm relieved to know my service request has been assigned. I was scared I would have more delays with my EAD. Thankfully it seems like they are working on it.

Hi, have you gotten any reply since then and if yes how soon since the day your file was on hold?
