Issues with I-134 Affidavit of support and police check.

I am seriously freaking out! I've come this close and for some reason things are just not going right. The process is stressful enough as it is without having the universe go against you too!

First my AFP Police check got delayed and now that I have received it, some words on the certificate are not clear because the ink appears to have run out and there are bits of ink on it that appears as though there is text that has been deliberately "rubbed" out to hide something. To make matters worse the original I-134 that my fiance got her father to send to us still has not arrived after almost two weeks! And my interview is coming up next Tuesday!

Now I have read on many posts that they need the original signed I-134 but I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten away with bringing the scanned copy of the original instead? I know that you can still send the original later after the interview but I'd rather not have to wait any longer.

In regards to the police check, do you think they will take issue with the ink problem? You can still read it all and all the security features on the certificate are there but it just looks a bit off.

Lastly, I've read that people have had to provide supporting document proving that the sponsorer on the I-134 is a US citizen. Is this needed if he is born in the US? He is worried that he has already given so much revealing documents about his personal details that he is not keen on providing his birth certificate either.

Regarding the AFP Police check....My fiance is Brazilian and his police reports were available online once he applied for them. I am not familiar with the process in Australia, but you might try checking to see if you can get to it online and print off a legible copy.

As long as all the security features are in tack on the Police Certificate I personally wouldn't worry about it.

I too have read that people have used scanned copies and this has caused no problem so I guess it couldn't hurt to be prepared and get one organised in case the original doesn't arrive in time.

All the very best for your interview next Tuesday.

No I didn't need a cosponsor so didn't want to give wrong advice. I understand tho how your cosponsor must feel in regards to sending so much information in but remember he wont need to send originals and you can track the package once it's sent. :)
