K1 Administrative Processing

I was so excited after my US Embassy Interview. I was told everything was in order, my application was successful and I should receive my visa within two weeks. I handed in my notice at work and started making wedding plans. But, having heard nothing I thought I'd do a status check and to my horror it said Administrative Processing. I can't think of anything that could be wrong and haven't been asked to provide any additional information. Has anyone else experienced this? As if this whole process wasn't stressful enough I am getting really upset by this.

They all go through Administrative processing, next it will go to issued. Dont worry its just them finalizing things putting the visa in your passport. Has it been over 2 weeks, is that why your worried. sometimes it can take a bit longer. Think there is a thread posted by nich.nick showing how long it took some people .

If you were not born in the UK, your visa may take longer to be issued, especially if from the Middle East, Pakistan, India or if you have Muslim ties. This is the dreaded security AP that takes awhile. Its not the paper shuffling that occurs briefly for everybody prior to issue. Even if the interview is perfect and the guy says youre approved, there is the option of more security checks they run you through.

Do you fit that profile?

You should complete your timeline and profile. Some countries have longer AP than others. I also suggest you read up in the AP forum. There are many threads started there with AP stories. It will help you get a grasp of what is going on with AP lately.
