Hello,

I sent out my N400 a couple days ago and noticed the two following errors I made:

1) When listing my most present employment, I wrote the Date From, but on the Date To I wrote the day on which I filled the N400 (since it asks for a mm/dd/yyyy format), instead of writing "Present".

2) When listing additional employments in a separate sheet, I wrote at the top of the sheet:

"Refers to: Page 6, Part 9, Items 4-6 (additional items for extra space)"

This is apparently the wrong Part number, it is actually Part 8. However, a line right after the "Refers to" I wrote above, I wrote "Part 8. Information About Your Employment and School You Attended" as the title of the page.

Are these two errors deleterious?

I am afraid that these very small errors may cause a delay in the processing time.

Thank you all in advance!

These are genuine errors and might delay the background checks part but will not encourage a denial. During your interview the officer will go through the application form. That is your chance to report this to him/her. he/she will make changes and have you sign a paper for the same.

I'm no expert, but I don't think these "mistakes" will cause even a day's delay.

I wouldn't even think about this again until the day of the interview when you should tell your interviewer that you have two minor corrections.

If there is a delay in your process, which is very possible, I'm certain it will have nothing to do with this.

Do you know by how long this may delay the processing time?

Thank you for your answer, by the way!

There can't be a definitive answer for the delay's and its duration. even so , the backgrounds check for a person in the US are easy and fast. checking their background in foreign countries is what consumes time.it is not a big of a deal.

Thank you guys! Much stress relieved. I don't have a lot of history in my home country except for living there (no marriage or anything, I am 20 years old) so I hope the background check won't take long.
