Dear all Visajourney users,

I new to this form and i want to ask how is it possible to expedite a CR1 case at the Cairo Embassy in Egypt. I'm the petitioner and I filled a CR-1 for my spouse. The case has been completed at NVC since 02/22/2016 and until now I haven't heard anything back from NVC or the Embassy. Based on the time sheet of the case complete to interview, I understood that this is normal and the embassy in Egypt does take time.

However, I saw on the time sheet that a Visajourney' member from Egypt his name is "Beshoy" his case was completed on 02/19/2016 and his beneficiary already got interview on 04/18/16 as his case was expedited. I want to figure out how the case got expedited. I sent many emails to NVCexpedite@state.gov and I provided many attachment about the health condition of my wife along with copies of MRI & Exrays & emergency reports and updated medical reports and they would reply that they can't expedite the case and at one point I was able to reach a supervisor at NVC and asked her about the reason why my case was denied the expedition and she told me that it was from the embassy and that they didn't provide a reason for the denial. The NVC supervisor advised me to contact the embassy at both Cairoiv@state.gov & consularcairoiv@state.gov which I did but none of them would reply back to me.

Can someone please explain to me how to expedite the case or advise on what to do at this point.

Thank you

Exactly as you were told over the phone, it is the embassy that decides if you are eligible for expedite or not. You do not make it clear if you are the petitioner or beneficiary. Also you state that you provided your wife's medical information, but did you provide additional supporting evidence why it is a hardship that you are not together (I am assuming your wife is the USC here). You can apply for expedite again with stronger evidence this time, but what you can and should do it prepare yourself for the wait until you have an interview. Immigration can be a huge pain sometimes, but there is not much we can do about it.

Dear Kastrs

Thank you for your reply, I'm a US citizen and the husband and petitioner of the CR-1 case that I filled for my Wife. I provided all the medical information for my wife describing her condition as attachments and on the body of the email I provided a statement on how my wife's health condition changed and the fact that I'm requesting that expedite so she may come to the US faster and get the medical attention she needs at my own expense since her condition is not improving and actually getting worsen by time as stated on the medical reports attached to the email.

Would you please tell me what may be additional supporting evidence for why it is a hardship that we are not together.. I can't think of anything else so if you have any advise I would greatly appreciate it..

Thank you so much

My wife requested an expedite on our case, it was granted by the embassy in 3 weeks after we sent the request. However each case is different and depends on the reason they will wether approve or denied it.

All you need to explain how this long process would effect you and your circumstances need your case to be moved forward.

Good luck :)

How was the case expedited? to which phone or email you send the expedite and what do you put on the subject and if you wouldn't mind how to explain that the long process would effect. for my condition it's her health condition but how can i show it?

You need to send an email to this ( NVCExpedite@state.gov ) and explain your situation and you might include any support documents proofing your hardship circumstances. They should respond receivable notification and then it will take them about 3 weeks in order to get back to you with the decision from the embassy.

Our case was that my wife delivered twin girls here and she couldn't to travel back to US due to the airline rules that the adult cannot carry two infant, she explained that to the embassy that she want to go back home as her family wants to see the babies and also we were postponing the vaccinations for the babies until we go back to US.

But as always we sticking now in AP since Jan 20th :(

Andrew,

As the other poster here mentioned, one thing you should just keep in the back of your mind is just because your case is expedited for an interview does not mean that you will be issued the visa right away, your case could still be subject to AP. Additionally, the embassies typically consider the expedite criteria in relation to how they negatively impact the USC petitioner, since in your case your wife, the beneficiary, is suffering from some medical condition this is likely why your expedite request was not granted.

Also, it is not clear to me why you believe that her getting her visa faster would help to improve her medical condition.

Dear kastrs

Thank you for your reply.. So now I understood the AP process and also I appreciate that you made it clear about how the expedite process work.. The way I explained how my wife's medical condition would improve is the fact that there are lacks and pooriness of medical treatments in Egypt which is why they're unable to come up with a treatment that works for her and her condition is worsen and not improving so coming here to the US means better treatment as her condition in Egypt is worsen by time

I was thinking on the same lines, did you submit evidence that the treatment she needs is not available locally but is in the US?

My first thought would be seek second or third opinions.

Sounds like the issue is one of diagnosis rather than treatment?

If it is akin to the B2 Medical Visa, which I am going to assume it would be, they would be looking for documentation from the Specialist she is under confirming her condition and that treatment is not available locally and from the US Specialist who will look after her.

It's CR-1 and it just a matter of having the interview scheduled.. I will try to explain the harm on my site and if it got denied than I will just wait and pray for the regular way to go fast..
