IR1 Denied entry at POE. What happens?

I am just wondering if anyone here has had an issue coming with your IR1 for the first time into the US. Especially by air.

Say, for example, they want to see your Elis fee receipt and you don't have it on you, or perhaps you did not realize.your visa had an error... Or your visa package gets damaged in transit... I dont know. Just something that grants CBP to say ypu cant come ino the US. Something like that.

I am jut curious as to what happens then, and if it has happened to anyone here on VJ.

What happens if you are denied entry? Do they void your visa? Do they send you back and you can try again when you resolve whatever it is that had them turn you away?

You dont need to pay the ELIS fee before you leave. You need to hand carry your visa package. I cant see any reason why they would deny an IR1 entry.

About the only way I could see you being denied entry was if CBP suspected a fraudulent document. And even then you wouldn't just be denied entry, you'd be under arrest.

Just the other day I read from some VJer at Tecate, MX POE. He was asked to produce Elis receipt and was not allowed entry until he came back with the document.

As for the arrest... Well, it would be interesting to know if it happened to anyone.

I have never read about a case of denied at POE for first time IR1's and it's why I am asking.

I would simply like to know if someone has been in that situation and what happens then.
