I know I maybe thinking ahead, although we just started our K1 visa process and just received our NOA1, however, I would like to know what does my Filipina fiance in Sweden needs before her interview. We just need to gather what's needed ahead of time so when the interview is around the corner, we have all of her papers done.

1. Does she need CENOMAR from the Philippines, stating that she is free to marry?

2. Does she need a Police Clearance or NBI clearance in the Philippines or can she get a Police clearance in Stockholm?

3. What other documents does she need?

A little info:

We are a same sex couple, both Filipina, but I am Naturalized USC. My fiance is currently in Sweden, been working there for 4 years and still a Philippine Passport holder.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hi!

1) I think so

2) She needs both, and from any other country she's lives in more than a year

3) Proof of residency in Sweden, birth certificate from Philippines

vaccination records are helpful if available

Does she have a medical history? Been previously married?

She's never been married. She doesn't have any medical history.

For proof of residency, she has a personal number or ID issued by the government that she's legal to work and live in Stockholm.

Thank you for the info, I'll let her know what she needs to prepare.

Also, how long is the validity of the police clearance from the Philippines? I don't want her to get it now and it's not valid after 30 days.

I think she specifically needs a copy (in English or translated) of the residency permit called "Personbevis".

Police certificates are typically valid 1 year, but check that with someone in the regional forum for the Philippines...

You also need to prepare the I134 with supporting evidence of financial support for her to take to the interview, but I'm guessing you are aware of that :-)

I will let her know about the Personbevis.

As for the I-134, I just don't know when to request for verification of employment. I mean I don't want to request now and send it to her and then her interview is in 3 months. I believe VOE is only valid for 30 days.

I have the tax transcripts for the past 3 years, I can provide pay stubs and VOE. However, do I need to also provide bank statements?

As long as your income meets the requirements, you don't need bank statements. I would be surprised if there is such a strict rule about the VOE. How about you send it when you receive NOA2?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Is she processing the visa application in Sweden? If yes, you need to follow the embassy instructions letter for the embassy in Sweden.

1 ) Most likely (I have found that Filipinas processing in other countries have been asked for the CENOMAR)

2) For sure will need a current NBI for "travel abroad" (green version, valid for a year). No to local barangay police clearance

3) Follow the embassy instructions letter for the U.S. embassy in Sweden

I can confirm she will definitely need the Personbevis. The embassy will specifically ask for this in the embassy letter. She can ask for one in English. I don't know how it works since she is originally from the Philippines but there's one that would normally show her parents information on it as well that the embassy wants, but since she is not born in Sweden I'm not sure how that works.
