Hi - I am sick of looking at the CSC site with the same month and date for processing staring back at me - and SO happy to have found this site. What a great idea and much needed support.

The visa application process can feel like such a lonely road to travel at times. Sometimes I feel like I have an imaginary friend rather than a fiance. ;-)

Does anyone know just how useful the CSC processing list is? How often is it updated etc? Apologies if this is an ancient question but I am new to this and it feels so good to have people to ask these things.

GOOD LUCK to all of you who are in the same boat (uh-hem....please excuse the travel pun..... I thank you), it's great to hear how you're all progressing and lets me know that there really IS something happening in California apart from surfing and looking "kewl".

Take care

JD :luv:

I would not give too much on the CSC processing times. My experience was that our NOA2 was approved even though according to the processing times they are far away behind. I would recommend you to sign up to track through your case numbers.

From discusssions held here before about this subject, here's what everyone that was interested and observed has come up with. The CSC processing times seems to get updated monthly around the 17th of the month. The month they're displaying is "supposedly" the oldest cases they still have on hand that have not finished processing. It did in fact advance from July 2006 to August 2006 last month around the 17th. The reality of it is that the majority of cases have been approved long before the month they show they're now processing.

The bad thing is they don't want to hear from you about your case until it's 30 days past that month they show on the site. To someone like myself who is one of the few lingering November cases still not approved, I cannot call them for four more months, and that's assuming they continue to update their site and move it ahead every month. If I remember right, when I checked it a several months ago it sat on June 2006 for at least two months.

I should have moved to the region of the country that Vermont services before I filed!!

The dates shown on the CSC site are the very far outliers of what they process - the end of the line for that chunk of time, if that makes sense.

Other official USCIS publications list I-129F processing times at an average of 2.9 months - which is about the experience of most VJers around here. VT filers come in under - WAY under lately - and CSC, others come in a bit over, but it's a good rough estimate.

I-129F/K1

1-12-07 mailed to CSC

1-22-07 DHS cashes the I-129F check

1-23-07 NOA1 Notice Date

1-26-07 NOA1 arrives in the post

4-25-07 Touched!

4-26-07 Touched again!

5-3-07 NOA2!!! Two approval emails received at 11:36am

5-10-07 Arrived at NVC/5-14-07 Left NVC - London-bound!

5-17-07??? London receives?

5-20-07 Packet 3 mailed

5-26-07 Packet 3 received

5-29-07 Packet 3 returned, few days later than planned due to bank holiday weekend

6-06-07 Medical in London (called to schedule on May 29)

6-11-07 "Medical in file" at Embassy

6-14-07 Resent packet 3 to Embassy after hearing nothing about first try

6-22-07 DOS says "applicant now eligible for interview," ie: they enter p3 into their system

6-25-07 DOS says interview date is August 21

6-28-07 Help from our congressional representative gives us new interview date: July 6

7-06-07 Interview at 9:00 am at the London Embassy - Approved.

7-16-07 Visa delivered after 'security checks' completed

I-129F approved in 111 days; Interview 174 days from filing

Thanks for all your responses and ideas.....

Does anyone know WHY my case was sent to California when my fiance lives in Tennessee? Is there a system to the referrals or is it quotas? It seems a little odd that it wasn't sent to Texas for processing.

Cheers guys, it's good to hear about your experiences.

there is no rhyme or reason in my opinion with where your case is handled. CSC is in my humble opinion one of the faster service centers and its generally considered a good thing if your case is passed to them to process. I really wouldnt pay any heed to the processing times on the USCIS website. My K1 visa was processed in 3 months, and I received my green card (AOS filing) within 8 weeks of filing. I know that my timescales are very good indeed and many others here have much longer waiting times, but I was processed at CSC so they are clearly faster than their website timescales indicate. Good luck.

CSC processing list is about as useless as, well, you know.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
