I'm greatly appreciated for all the helpful info everyone contributed....I'm now getting ready for the interview but I can't figure out how this problem...I've searched but couldnt find the answer. To register for appt time and courier with Canada post, I need to fill out as appeared on my passport in order to avoid delay. However, my passport is under my maiden last name and my immigration paperworks are under my married last name..( i have added my hubby last name to mine with a hyphen)

1) Which last name can I used to fill out for appt time and courier service?

2) do I need to create a new account for my child? Or I can use "add another member" option?

Thanks in advance.....

Your immigrant visa will be in your passport name. So if you want your green card in your hypenated name, you NEED to change your passport. Fill this out in your passport name as required and get that passport fixed if you want your green card in the new name. It's $450 to change the green card once you're in the USA.

As for your child if they are not a USC, they should have their own NVC number, packet 4 with interview date on it that you can add. IR1/CR1 does not allow for derivatives so everyone immigrating, needs their own I-130 etc.. Is your child immigrating?

Yes book in passport name. However, you can still fix your passport before interview even if you register the appointment given to you by the NVC in passport name. Bring both to interview.

Is the child a USC or does he have his own case number?

wait ! you said your paperwork were in your married name but your passport is your maiden name and you are at the interview stage ?

how did you clear NVC then ???? since you have to give the passport copy then and since it has a different name than the application name how was your application accepted ???

i am not questioning you but my wife and i are in a similar state , we are expecting NVC stage in a month , her passport has maiden name and application is under her married name and for some reason we cannot change her passport name ( she is an indian studying in canada , the indian consulate are asking us a lot of documents and a 3 month processing , due to which we cancelled the name change and decided to do it after two years when removing conditions )

you can also change it after two years when removing conditions

anyway at that time you will be paying a big amount ( around $600 )

sanil1986....the marriage certificate shows the name changes of my maiden and new hyphenated last name.

NLR....my child has his own case number.

So when creating account for Canada Post courier service, i can use "add family member" to add my child information? No need for a separate registration then? Am i correct?

I believe he needs a separate registration.

He should have his own P4

Which is the interview letter from the NVC as you're new and may not know VJ lingo.
